long overdue
This happened a good 3 weeks ago, but better late then never eh?
A tribute to my past 20 weeks of internship together with Glen and Joyce. I think the most memorable event for the year (meaning 2008) was the Hua Song Museum tour by The Living Room, 938LIVE.
Everybody, Hua Song Museum is part of Haw Paw Villa (and that place is still open). This museum showcases the lives of early chinese immigrants in Singapore. So let's take a look.
so this is an example of what it's like on board the ship - or hell hole. cos only 1 in 5 men make it to Singapore from China alive due to the terrible living conditions. The tour guide said that some of the men even commit suicide by throwing themselves off the ship into the sea.
so there were plenty of wax figures. that place was really well maintained. and i think millions were spent to set it up. freak!
so here's what they portrayed the typical kitchen to look like. and food always amuses me! i think stanley wants some too.
i imagined myself to be a housewife, and opening my little... whatever that thing is called.
and killing a snake. ew, that looked quite real.
then they showed us how after an era, all the men chopped off their plaits and started wearing shorter hair. here's a demonstration. not a pleasant experience.
glen was trying to immitate some wax figure. we think he looks like liang po po.

eh what happened to my green beans? one whole sack is missing!!!
oi you joker, give it back to me! (you have to admit, joyce looks convincing in this picture eh? i couldnt help but to laugh!)
and finally, the three of us decided to do a collaboration. so i was trying to buy something from joyce and glen, the naughty kid is trying to throw an orange at us. how creative.
so what chinese new year greeting shall i write for you sir?
my favourite breakfast set - made of silicon. ew, you've gotta try touching it. gross!
after the tour, we were waiting for our lunch. we were starving. Finally the really really good tim sum by Made in China Restaurant arrived. whoaaa, it was so good, no one had time to take pictures of them.
and this is probable the last photo we all took together as interns of 938LIVE :)
